The Pill is an international contemporary art gallery based in Instanbul, located in an old generator factory. It was founded in 2015 by Suela J.Cennet, prior Director of Daniel Templon Gallery, Paris-Brussels. Since January 2016 the gallery operates as a global platform that brings together local and international artists. Located in the historical peninsula of Istanbul by the Golden Horn, it was initially imagined by its founder as a mobile naval project space. Through creating a fertile environment for multi-disciplinary contemporary art, the gallery works on making young, emerging Turkish scene more visible. The Pill aims to enable a relevant dialog within the local context by multiplying collaborations with other institutions in the region, and inviting international artists to work and experiment in a new territory.
