Proyectos Monclova was established in 2005 in Mexico City as an experimental platform for emerging artists. Expanding and consolidating its programme over the years the gallery has evolved into one of the most important forums for contemporary art in Mexico, emphasising on the dialogue between local and international artists from different generations, such as Eduardo Terrazas, Martin Soto Climent, Fred Sandback, Andreas Slominski, Tercerunquinto or Julius Heinemann, among others. In 2012 the gallery moved to a newly designed location in Colonia Roma, which offers 2 exhibition spaces and a fully equipped video room for large-scale cinematographic projections thus offering their artists architectonic diversity and a platform of various formats. In parallel to its exhibition programme Proyectos Monclova organises a public programme with talks, screenings and performances to enrich its discursive potential. The gallery also publishes books on a regular basis.
