Delaine Le Bas’s oeuvre addresses various aspects of life, from political and social to private, seen through her personal perspective and experience, using mixed media installation, textile based works, performance, paintings, literature and videos.  While viewpoint of Romani community to which she belongs may have served as source of inspiration, ultimate issues encompassed goes far beyond, making her works increasing relevant to contemporary life in general.

Le Bas exhibited extensively in the UK and abroad. Participation in international events include Roma Pavilion Venice Biennale (2007, 2019), Prague Biennale (2007). Berlin Biennale (2020), Harbstsalon, Maxim Gorki Theatre, Berlin (2019, 2017), ANTI Athens Biennale (2018), Gwangju Biennale (2011), National Gallery Zimbabwe (2014). Solo exhibitions include Secession, Vienna (2023), ‘House of Le Bas’ Whitechapel Gallery, London, (2023) ‘Beware of Linguistic Engineering’, Maxim Gorki Theater (2022), ‘St Sara Kali George’, Worthing Museum and Art Gallery (2021). Created a commissioned work for Tate Liverpool (2022).
