Videoart at Midnight Editions

The Videoart at Midnight Editions series is the result of a discussion with leading experts in the field of
timebased media art regarding the conventional art market practice of limitation vs. the artist’s and
public’s interest in visibility and representation in a broader range of collections. Hence, the Videoart at
Midnight Editions series both addresses the wish of artists and collections for copyright and quality
control of art works, and the need of doing justice to an endlessly reproducible medium and affordable
prices.
Together with chosen artists who have been featured in the Videoart at Midnight screenings at Berlin’s
Babylon film theatre in recent years, an outstanding work from their oeuvre—film or installation—is
exclusively selected or newly produced. The work is published in an edition of 40 copies and is solely avail‐
able in this series.
