Marlborough Contemporary

Marlborough Contemporary opened in October 2012 as the latest addition to the  Marlborough group of galleries. Marlborough Fine Art, established in 1946, has played  a pivotal role with some of the great artists of the twentieth century. The new gallery  was created within the building occupied by Marlborough for nearly half a century.    Marlborough Contemporary works as an independent programme within the  Marlborough network and represents a distinct group of artists. Under the direction of  Andrew Renton, Marlborough Contemporary has formed a roster of  conceptually­driven artists, working with diverse practices from painting to  multi­media installation. The programme focuses on emergent and mid­career artists,  especially those with whom Renton has collaborated previously as curator within an  institutional context.
