Nina Koidl and Henning Weidemann founded Campagne Première in 2008 as a site for the production and presentation of conceptually oriented artistic practices. With a focus on artists working predominantly in film, video, photography and installations, Campagne Première organizes thematic exhibitions that question modes of representation and address the conditions of the artwork‘s production. The gallery takes its name from the historic rue Campagne Première in Montparnasse-Paris, known since the early 20th century as hub for artists, ateliers and filmlocation.
