Europa 2020-2021

In the pandemic summer of 2020 Hans Schabus traveld with his dog Enzo through the whole of Europe. With the train, taxi, rental car, ferry and bus he travled to the Northcape, the most northern point of Europe. From there he continued is journey with a cargo bike and cicled in 39 days all the way to Tariffa, the most southern city on the European mainland. Wile passing through the landscape Hans Schabus filmed the scenery with his Smartphone, always facing right. The result are 50 takes of 30 seconds each, summed up to 25 minutes in one movement against the reading direction. A performative, sculptural survey of the European landscape and an overcoming of nation states and their borders. From the rainy North to the dry South, from wooden 3 huts to brick houses to stone walls, from the rich green to dry brown.
