The Production of Otherness

This exhibition is an invitation to understand how the representation of the Other is intertwined with power systems that perpetuate inequality, discrimination, and dehumanization. Each piece urges us to deconstruct the fiction of alterity, restoring agency and political centrality to those who have been relegated to the margins of universal definitions of normality. By questioning the structures that shape the relationship between the Self and the Other, these artists invite us to think and desire beyond the duality of alterity, revealing the biases embedded in the standards of design, architecture, and art disciplines, and opening the door to new possibilities of resilience.
