Lorenzo Sandoval. ‘The Book of Changes’.

The I ching or The Book of Changes is an oracular book of Taoist origin that is said to be able to interpret the present situation and predict the future of those who consult it. Invited by the Klosterrüine Berlin’s online programme Time in Crisis on artistic production during the COVID-19 pandemic, Lorenzo Sandoval edited a whole collection of images from films, photo archives, YouTube videos or Instagram materials that he had collected over the years. The result translates into a sort of cosmology of our time, underlined using the vertical screen and a grammar of associations based on the concatenation of concepts that confront the rhythms, habits, works, gestures and constellations of our present.
