LAB 36 of Galería SENDA presents the video “Unicornio” by Túlio Pinto, one of the results from his residency of seven weeks that he did in Phoenix, Arizona).
The uneven environment of the desert of Superior Mountains on the east of Phoenix, serves as scenery for a unicorn that presents an absurd visual juxtaposition, almost surrealistic. Actually, it provokes similar feelings as the sculptural work of Túlio – tension and harmony, childish surprise, discomfort and elements and vulnerabilities of materials that are not found in the natural world. The carnivalesque aspect of the unicorn walking with orange balloons in the desert and the economic use of industrial materials define a setting for the visualization of the work of Túlio Pinto.
