The winning proposal of the curatorial residency promoted by the Centro de Residencias Artísticas de Matadero Madrid is Gema Darbo

Darbo, currently based in London, focuses her work on the intersection between visual culture, digital humanities and curatorial knowledge. She has presented projects at the Tate Modern and the Gallery Prize, in London, or at the CCCB and Fotocolectania, in Barcelona, ​​among many others. She is the co-founder of Widephoto, a non-profit collective and collaborative curatorial platform focused on learning, sharing and discussing contemporary photography.

The jury was made up by Ane Rodríguez Armendariz (head of the Centro de Residencias Artísticas de Matadero Madrid), Isabel Casanellas Jurnet (general coordinator at LOOP Barcelona), Enric Puig Punyet (director, Centre d’Arts Santa Mònica).

Among the objectives of this open call there is the will to promote the professional development of art curators, providing them with institutional support and resources, and making their work visible internationally.
