Laura Olea is a curator, researcher and cultural manager based in Cantabria. She specializes in visual arts and performance and has worked with public and private institutions such as the Center for Contemporary Art Barcelona (CCCB) and the Blueproject Foundation. Likewise, she has collaborated with international projects such as The Influencers Festival, LOOP Video Art Fair, Frieze London, Barcelona Gallery Weekend and GlogauAIR in Berlin. In 2013 she co-founded the Placa Turca self-managed collective, reflecting on and experimenting with collective creation in various site-specific projects such as Sopa de pedra for the Salto Mortal exhibition at La Capella or the Barcelona – Polígon de Creació event. Some of her latest projects as an independent curator are KIT by Laura Sebastianes at Piramidón (2021), Dudas y montañas by Carla Souto at Tangent Projects in the context of the Art Nou 2020 festival; the sound and performance installation Three Stages of Change Appreciation by MANS O in collaboration with Sociedad 0 (2019); the HerSelves (2016) collective exhibition at the Blueproject Foundation with artists Itziar Barrio, Arvida Byström & Maja Malou Lyse, Alba Feito, Sarah Maple and Dina Litovsky, among others.
