Director of Exhibitions and curator at Eye Filmmuseum (Amsterdam)

As Director of Exhibitions and Curator at Eye Filmmuseum, Jaap Guldemond has initiated an exhibition policy in which the relationship between film and visual art is a leading concern. How does the ‘language’ of cinema, or the cinematic grammar influences the work of visual artists or vice versa. Apart from this, Guldemond tries to rethink the way how to exhibit cinema. Significant exhibition projects featured artists such as Anthony McCall, Isaac Julien, Ryoji Ikeda, Gusmão & Paiva, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Rosa Barba, William Kentridge, Cao Guimarães, Jesper Just, Johan van der Keuken, Andrei Tarkovski, Michelangelo Antonioni, Oskar Fischinger and Jan Švankmajer.

Previously, Guldemond was a Senior Curator at Boijmans Van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam, Head of Collections and Presentations at the Kröller-Müller Museum in Otterlo, and Curator at the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven. Guldemonds collaborations further include film- related artists such as Douglas Gordon, Pierre Huyghe, Eija-Liisa Ahtila, Mark Lewis, Anri Sala, David Claerbout and Yang Fudong.
