Panos Fourtoulakis, winner of the curatorial residency LOOP Barcelona & Matadero Madrid 2023

We are very excited to share the resolution of the 2023 curatorial residency call for a curator of national or international origin, in collaboration Loop Barcelona and Residencias Matadero Madrid; as well as thanks to the nearly 50 people who submitted their applications.

Finally, the jury has decided to award the residency to curator Panos Fourtoulakis whose practice focuses on media cultures; his ability to create subjectivities and the relationship of life and embodied presence with mediation, especially as it relates to moving image practices.

This residency have a first stay, of May 2023 in Barcelona, accompanied and managed by Loop Barcelona in collaboration with Fabra i Coats and Centre d’Arts Santa Mònica; and a second stay, of June in Madrid, managed by CRA. The research presentation developed during the residency will be materialized in collaboration in the “Martes de Vídeo” programme, in early 2024.
