Opening of the LOOP Festival 2023

LOOP celebrates its 21st edition from 14 to 24 November 2023, featuring the work of 116 artists. The festival opens on 14 November at 19h at the Centre d'Art Tecla Sala.

The visual artist Fito Conesa, winner of the ninth edition of the Premi de Videocreació, will be in charge of opening the festival with his audiovisual piece Anoxia. A Constant Prelude, a song to the degeneration of the Mediterranean in the form of an opera in three acts, a co-production of the Centres Territorials del Sistema Públic d’Equipaments d’Arts Visuals de Catalunya (ACVic Centre d’Arts Contemporànies; Bòlit, Centre d’Art Contemporani de Girona; Fabra i Coats: Centre d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona, M|A|C Mataró Art Contemporani; Mèdol – Centre d’Arts Contemporànies de Tarragona, Centre d’Art la Panera, Lleida; Lo Pati – Centre d’Art Terres de l’Ebre, Amposta; Centre d’Art Tecla Sala, L’Hospitalet de Llobregat), Santa Mònica, the Departament de Cultura de la Generalitat de Catalunya and LOOP.

The exhibition will be joined by the site-specific performance Naumàquia coral, a sound action composed by the artist featuring the singer Claudia Schneider. Finally, DJ La Niña Jacarandá will present her project Sexpiritual, which premiered at Sónar 2023.

The opening event will take place at the Centre d’Art Tecla Sala (Av. de Josep Tarradellas i Joan, 44, L’Hospitalet de Llobregat) on 14 November at 19h. We look forward to seeing you there!
