Glenda León’s work spans from drawing to video art, including installation, objects, and photography. Nowadays, she lives and works between Havana and Madrid, but she graduated from the Academy of Superior Art and New Media in Cologne. León has exhibited in major public and private art spaces, among others Freies Museum, Berlin; Lehman College Art Gallery, New York; or CIFO, Miami. She has received prizes such as The Pollock-Krasner Foundation Award and has been part of residencies like Couvent des Recollets, in Paris, and Fonderie Darling, in Montreal. Her works belong to the permanent collections of the Centre Georges Pompidou, Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes de La Habana, and Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. In 2013 she took part in the Cuban Pavilion at the 55th Venice Biennial.
