Ruben Verdu is an artist, researcher and writer dealing with issues concerning contemporary art and concurrent debates in the field of cultural studies. He has produced work that has been critical of the optocentric construct of our culture, and in consequence, has usually assigned a distopic role to the visual. His work has also been exhibited widely in the US, Europe, as well as in Latin America and Japan. He is currently researching the nature of those aporistic territories that develop from regimes of the visual but do not comply with them.
