Paola Ugolini

Is a Rome-based art critic and independent curator, who currently serves as Curator at Fondazione In Between Art Film. She is part of the editorial team at STILL – Studies on Moving Images. Since 2015, she is Guest Curator at Richard Saltoun Gallery, London, where she curated the group shows The Body as Language, Women look at Women, Vocalizing (Greta Shödl e Tomaso Binga) and Femimism in ITalian Contemporary Art: Silvia Giambrone e Marinella Senatore. Recently, she curated the group shows Corpo a Corpo (Body to Body) and Io dico Io/I say I at Galleria Nazionale di Arte Moderna in Rome (2017/2021), and Beyond limits and boundaries with Cristiana Perrella at MAXXI Museum in Rome (2014). Since the late eighties, she has curated shows that centered on the work of female artists, Video-Art, Body Art, Performance Art and the relationship between Art and Feminism. She worked as Assistant Curator for the group shows Machine for Peace for the former Jugoslavian Pavillion at the XLV Venice Biennale (1993), and Ubi Motus Ubi Fluxus at the XLIV Venice Biennial (1990).
