Chantal Peñalosa

Chantal Peñalosa (1987, Tecate, Mexico) studied fine arts at the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California and the University of São Paulo. She was awarded the acquisition prize in the XIV Bienal de Artes Visuales del Noroeste and was awarded FONCA fellowships in the Young Artists category (2013- 2014 and 2015-2016). In 2014 she was also recipient of the Programa Bancomer-MACG in its 4^th edition. Recent institutional solo exhibitions include “Atlas Western” at MUAC in Mexico City (2021); “Another Million Moments” at Centro de las Artes Nave Generadores, Monterrey, Mexico; “There’s Something About the Weather of this Place” at BEST PRACTICE, San Diego, USA. Her work has also been shown at institutions such as Museo Jumex, Mexico City; Museo Amparo, Puebla and Bienal Sur, Buenos Aires, Argentina among others.
