Erich Weiss

Erich Weiss (b.1966 in Waregem/Belgium) is an artist/curator based in Barcelona.  He is active as curator for international cultural institutions.
At the moment he collaborates as researcher with the MCBA Lausanne preparing the exhibition ‘Le Grand Jeu/when Surrealism reinvented the rules’.

In 2022 he was venue coordinator and production manager at Documenta 15 in Kassel.
The same year he produced the one man exhibition of Michel François at the Yarat Art Centre in Baku and created a site-specific intervention of the Swiss artist Nils Nova at the Villa Cavrois in Croix (F).

In 2021 he curated the project ‘Studio Inframince’ – workshops, talks, performances, concerts in the context of Saädane Afif’s exhibition ‘The Fountain Archive & Beyond’ at the Antoni Tàpies Foundation.

As an artist he is specialized in time-based arts (sound, video, film, installation, performance).
Recent projects include ‘Are we dead yet ?’ Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein 2023 ; ‘Locus Solus’ Kiosk Gent 2021 ; ‘Les Bijoux indiscrets’ Gal. Bernhard Bischoff Bern.
